The Role:

The Engineering Group Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing optimizing and supporting manufacturing processes and automation in an assigned area. This role combines handson process engineering with controls and automation expertise to improve safety quality throughput and cost while providing technical guidance to a small group of employees and regularly collaborating with partners outside the work group.

What Youll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Analyze and implement product and machinery designs to determine the most effective manufacturing and automation methods.

  • Propose evaluate and refine equipment and process solutions for the assigned area.

  • Direct the design development and improvement of manufacturing processes to support safety quality and productivity goals.

  • Maintain regular contact with crossfunctional and external partners to align on plans changes and issue resolution.

  • Provide technical direction and support to a small group of technical employees.

  • Evaluate and monitor process and equipment expenditures helping ensure sound investments and cost control.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 3 years of industry experience as a manufacturing engineer or in automation engineering.

  • Strong technical knowledge in process engineering disciplines (e.g. process design troubleshooting optimization).

  • Proven experience commissioning programming and maintaining industrial robots (e.g. material handling welding or assembly applications)

  • Must be able to work on a rotating/flexible shift (1st 2nd or 3rd) as well as overtime and weekends as needed.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with GM Global Common Controls Architecture.

  • Machine vision system experience (e.g. setup programming troubleshooting).

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field or equivalent robotics experience.
