As key personnel identified by the government FOIA Analysts ensure transparent and compliant handling of FOIA requests. This position operates Monday through Friday during normal business hours except on Federal holidays or when government facilities are closed for administrative FOIA Analyst will perform comprehensive support for FOIA operations working with FOIA Officers POCs and SMEs. Core responsibilities include:Request Management:Monitor systems mail faxes and email accounts for new requests and referralsAnalyze incoming requests for compliance and procedural requirementsDraft acknowledgment letters with appropriate fee categories and determinationsCoordinate with components for document review and case managementAssign and track requests through the appropriate channelsDocument Processing:Identify offices and personnel with potentially responsive recordsTask and monitor search responses to ensure completenessProvide guidance on proper search techniquesDetermine appropriate search methodologiesConvert and prepare documents for reviewRecords Review and Response:Identify information exempt from release under applicable lawsApply appropriate redactions with proper exemption annotationsReview release recommendations and reconcile differencesPrepare correspondence for approval by authorized officialsCoordinate with subject matter experts and legal counsel as neededPrepare final response packages for signatureAdministrative Functions:Maintain electronic case files with comprehensive documentationUpdate case management systems for data accuracyManage correspondence and communicationsPrepare Vaughn indices for withheld documentsGenerate required reports and statisticsEnsure Section 508 compliance for public materialsEducation and Experience:Associates degree or equivalent experienceThree or more years of experience in analytical and administrative support servicesRequired Skills and Competencies:High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel) and Adobe AcrobatExperience with electronic FOIA processing tools preferably FOIAXpressExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirementsProven technical knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. 552)Ability to analyze documents and identify exempt informationExperience with redaction processes and exemption applicationStrong attention to detail in data management and reportingDesired Skills and Competencies:Previous experience in government FOIA officesKnowledge of federal FOIA policies and proceduresExperience with FOIA case management systemsBackground in legal research related to FOIA casesFamiliarity with federal recordkeeping requirementsOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
