What we need:

We are seeking energetic passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of part-time permanent Natural Resources Technician 3within theDivision of Parks & Watercraftheadquartered at Stonelick State Parklocated in Clermont County. This is a part-time position budgeted for 1500 hours per fiscal year (approximately 29 hours per week). This position will be required to work evenings weekends and holidays.

What you will do

  • Work outside in some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio;
  • Perform customer service functions with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and safety;
  • Act as lead maintenance worker for utilizing carpentry plumbing electrical HVAC and equipment operation skills;
  • Understands and adheres to safety practices and procedures.
  • Maintain facilities grounds &/or equipment;
  • Maintain a variety of park equipment and vehicles;
  • Interact daily with a variety of customers who utilize the park & watercraft facilities;

  • Starting hourly pay $22.60/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 5.5 years of service with an end salary of $25.77/hr.
  • There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule & longevity rates OCSEA Employees Department of Administrative Services.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT:
Pesticide applicator license as issued by Department of Agriculture required within one year of hire; positions operating watercraft must complete boat operator education course per Ohio Revised Code1547.05.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be exposed to dirt dust fumes & noise; may be exposed to chemical spray; may work in or near water; may work evenings weekends &/or holidays; works outside & may be exposed to inclement weather; may be exposed to dangerous machinery; unpleasant odors human & animal waste outdoor elements (e.g. animals insects poison ivy).

12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. safety practices; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. use of shop hand & power tools & light equipment; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. carpentry electrical repair & plumbing; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. equipment operation maintenance & repair (e.g. tractors with attachments); valid drivers license.
