Mendlesham Medical Group (Mendlesham Health Centre & Manor Farm Surgery) is looking to recruit two prescription clerks/pharmacy hatch assistants to join our busy dispensary team supporting an important service at the heart of patient care.This is apart-time role offered on 20 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed).
The role is a mix of patient-facing hatch duties and prescription administration helping to ensure repeat prescriptions and prescription queries are dealt with safely accurately and within required timescales.
Full training will be provided.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Process repeat prescription requests ensuring these are actioned within72 hours.
- Check and respond to prescription requests received via email and other approved methods.
- Deal with prescription queries from patients community pharmacies nursing homes and district nurses.
- Keep repeat prescribing information accurate and up to date on the clinical system (SystmOne).
- Send medication review letters and support the recall process where required.
- Arrange prescribing-related monitoring including blood tests (viaICE) and blood pressure checks.
- Support the dispensary hatch service serving patients collecting prescriptions and medication.
- Liaise with the clinical team regarding prescription and medicine management queries.
- Assist with prescribing incentive work including reports and letters in line with guidance.
- Provide general dispensary administration and support the wider team as required.
- Work flexibly across both sites and maintain up-to-date knowledge of prescribing guidance and practice procedures.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess experience of working in a busy public environment.
- Applicants with a pharmacy or dispensary background would be an advantage.
- Be flexible with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
- Demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
- General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
