Cromer Group Practice are seeking a GP referrals administrator to join their team on a full-time basis. This position will play a key role ensuring that patient referrals from the to external healthcare providers are processed accurately efficiently and in line with clinical and organisational requirements. This involves managing the end-to-end referral process supporting clinicians with administrative tasks and acting as a point of contact for patients and secondary care providers regarding referral queries. The role also involves managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) third party information requests insurance and legal enquiries and liaising with clinicians to gather relevant documentation. The postholder will ensure compliance with data protection legislation organisational policies and confidentiality standards while providing a clear and professional service to patients external organisations and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and process patient referrals accurately using NHS e-Referral Service (eRS) and other digital systems.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of local and national referral pathways.
- Apply pathway rules and service criteria to ensure patients are referred to the most appropriate service first time.
- Track referrals to ensure timely action and follow-up escalating delays where necessary.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve referral issues.
- Support patients with referral queries choices and pathway information.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data protection and NHS referral guidelines.
- Review and prepare patient records ensuring information is complete accurate and redacted appropriately.
To be considered for this position you will have the following:
Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting.
Clinical systems experience particularly SystmOne and NHS e-Referral Service (eRS).
Strong digital skills Microsoft Office skills (Teams Excel Word Outlook) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Clear communication and patient-facing customer service skills
Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload
Commitment to high-quality patient -centred service
Self-motivated and proactive.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
