ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Inclusive Employment Specialist (IES) will be the face of Jigsaw in the local community focusing on employer engagement. The IES will work closely with Jigsaw Hub and Zone Managers the Jigsaw Alumni and Jigsaw Paid Trainees and Participants to deeply understand their employment goals and aspirations and use their strong local labour market knowledge and employer networks to identify and create suitable sustainable employment placements.
Key areas of accountability include but are not limited to:
- Engage directly with employers and local IEA providers across the local community to identify and carve suitable sustainable employment opportunities for job seekers with disability.
- Develop and implement structured employer engagement plans that aims to build a solid leads pipeline to meet placement targets.
- Engage in and represent Jigsaw Australia at various networking opportunities (e.g. Business Chamber business networking breakfasts etc) to build new partnerships.
- Meet key performance indicators in relation to employer engagement employment opportunities and job placements.
- Collaborate with the local Hub and/or Zone Manager(s) engage directly with Paid Trainees Participants and Jigsaw Alumni to understand their motivators employment goals and aspirations to understand where to focus efforts in engaging with employers.
- Support Paid Trainees and Participants through job interviews where necessary.
- Support The Jigsaw Growth team in wider strategic employer engagement initiatives.
- Work with local Community Engagement Leads in partnering with community service organisations and other employment service providers with the aim to build solid outcomes-focused wraparound services for job seekers that support their vocational and non-vocational barriers to gaining and maintaining employment.
- Enter and maintain employer and vacancy records into the relevant internal CRM in addition to relevant Department systems including any wage subsidies as required.
- Maintain case notes for both job seekers and employers for any and all engagement.
- Ensure all employment activity complies with the requirements in the Inclusive Employment Australia Deed and guidelines.
Qualifications and experience required:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in reverse marketing and placing vulnerable cohorts of job seekers into employment; preferably within Disability Employment Services
- Business development/sales experience
- Caseload management of disadvantaged job seekers; preferably within the Disability Employment Services program
- Knowledge of inclusive employment practices and barriers faced by people with disability
- Possess a working knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Willingness to travel intrastate based on employer and job seeker support needs
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as required based on employer and job seeker needs
- Possess a current satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Possess and maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Other checks and certifications may be required based on customer needs
Desirable
- Solid existing employer networks
- Knowledge of the NDIS sector
- Knowledge of Work Integrated Social Enterprises (WISE)
- Experience in Transition to Work (TtW); ParentsNext/ParentPathways; Jobactive/Workforce Australia; Disability Employment Services (DES)/Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA)
