Job Description:
Under the direction of the Medical Manager the Field Medical Advisor acts as the first point of contact for any medical activity related to her/his product/ area of responsibility including undertaking clinical trial scientific liaison medical information and other project activities in accordance with Ipsen SOPs and International Codes of Practice eg GCP GPP and GPvP. The Field Medical Advisor provides non-promotional high level scientific medical and technical support to Ipsens external (Health Care Professional) and internal customers at office or field levels he/she also provides significant cross-functional medical support including to local commercial and market access. The Medical advisor acts as a guardian for high standards of compliance ethics and safety of Ipsen products putting patients at the center of his/her actions.
Provide scientific information and support:
Contribute to and support the clear articulation of a compelling brand strategy for her/his product/ area of responsibility across Ipsen marketing sales and medical functions
Contribute and Support on the local Medical Plan for respective TA and/or indication.
Own and lead the organisation and scientific support of key external National and Regional events in alignment and approval of the Medical Manager e.g. satellite symposia etc.
Upon request deliver lectures on scientific clinical and technical topics for therapeutic areas/products under responsibility ensuring appropriate approval in relevant systems
In close co-ordination with existing medical information resources respond professionally and quickly to documented unsolicited requests from the field and external stakeholders for clinical information and data in relation to product / disease specific questions including pre-launch communication on-label or off-licence use or any Ipsens research programes
Develop and Maintain knowledge on her/his product/area of responsibility:
Track and manage evolving evidence base in areas critical for the organization. Ensure this is communicated to the appropriate Ipsen personnel
Support Health Care Professionals (HCPs) including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in line with Ipsen strategy. Support HCPs by reactively (and proactively where appropriate) providing them with scientific and clinical data.
Attend appropriate scientific congresses to interact with HCPs develop knowledge in relevant therapy areas and to produce congress summaries for dissemination to HCPs.
Support the dissemination of product and disease area knowledge across Ipsen in accordance with business priorities
Undertake regular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharing cross functionally and across geographies
Assist in maintaining improving and promoting the Medical Information and wider Medical service in line with the Franchise Strategy and Ipsen SOPs
Qualification:
Degree in Medicine or other higher life science qualification
Master in Pharmaceutical Industry/Clinical trials would be a plus
Knowledge of regulatory standards related to pharmaceutical manufacturers communications
Knowledge of clinical trial and drug approval process clinical application of drug products
Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management
Demonstrate scientific and business expertise relevant to therapeutic areas including products disease state management emerging therapies and the competitive landscape
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry or biotechnology companies in Specialty Care business
Prior experience in Neuroscience will be considered as a plus
