About the Opportunity

The Global Trade Controls (GTC) Team is seeking internal candidates for a short-term secondment or a permanent role to support the GTC HR vetting portfolio. This is a key compliance role that helps ensure Boeing Australia entities meet Australian and U.S. trade-control obligations by vetting HR-requirements and access suitability for employees contractors purchased services and other third parties who require access to Boeing Australia networks sites and facilities.

Why this role matters

  • Directly support compliance with a range of export-control requirements (Australian U.S. and other applicable regimes) to protect Boeing business people and technology.
  • Boeing globally is currently operating under a Consent Agreement with the U.S. Department of State; maintaining rigorous vetting and access controls is critical to meeting our obligations under that Agreement and to demonstrating effective remediation.
  • GTC Australias HR vetting processes and practices are recognised across the enterprise as the gold standard for Boeing organisations outside the U.S.; this role helps sustain those standards and ensures consistent defensible decisions.
  • The position is central to preserving compliance reducing enterprise risk and supporting timely business support and program delivery.
  • This role helps foster a culture of compliance across Boeing Australia and positions GTC as a business enabler that supports Boeings growth and international engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess citizenship and eligibility information supplied by candidates and third parties to determine suitability for program and site access.
  • Apply established GTC vetting processes and decision frameworks; identify and escalate potential trade-control risks.
  • Coordinate closely with HR GTC management (AU and U.S.) Supplier Management and the broader GTC AU team.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across Boeing Australia businesses (BDA BAH BAA) to support consistent vetting and access decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of vetting outcomes and correspondence in accordance with GTC procedures.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of vetting processes and documentation to strengthen compliance and efficiency.
  • Support ad-hoc queries and provide pragmatic advice to hiring managers and program leads on access and eligibility questions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in doing highquality work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders across business units.
  • Comfortable working within established governance frameworks and following sensitive/confidential processes.
  • Ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment; willingness to learn and apply trade-control principles.
