The Role:
The Launch Electrical Software/Module Breakpoint Coordinator QE role is the key person during launch to ensure all manufacturing requirements best practices and Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) elements are implemented. This person will also ensure reflashes parts are used correctly. They are the single point of contact to the Electrical Team for all VeSCom releases. This role participates in the GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) for thorough training before launch activities begin. The GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College or AMEC is an immersive training program that provides participants the opportunity to train in both classroom and hands-on settings for future employment on a Launch Electrical Team at one of GMs vehicle assembly facilities.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
Be a member of the plants Electrical Team - an integrated technical organization consisting of members from Manufacturing Quality Supplier Quality and Product Development organizations focused on problem solving the plants top external and internal quality problems. Report to the Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator within that team.
Ensure compliance to the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) standards
Single point contact for module reflash
Ensure reflashes parts are used correctly
Write SPPS/PRTS for software/module issues provided by diagnostician
Ensure TWO/EWO breakpoints are executed correctly by working with the CIC Coordinator
Single point of contact to the Electrical Team for VeSCom releases
Manage AVG ignores to ensure they are tracked implemented and correctly removed when necessary by directly communicating with the DVT Coordinator
Module scrap tracking and resolution on defective parts
Maintain supplier module tester list (list of suppliers with who have testers if they dont why they dont and expected timing for testers. Expectation for all testers by SORP)
Update Electrical End of Line tracker
GCA Electrical sufficiency Lead and tracker/owner
Support other Electrical team members as needed/directed
Improving the Programming metric is a critical component of DRR
Provide test files when needed (snapshot fault file Vehicle Spy Log Files etc)
Improving the pass rate at GBFTT has a direct correlation to improving warranty performance and plant throughput.
The QE Electrical Software/BP Coordinator role development gives us all the tools to immediately improve production and eliminate product issues using the PTR SPPS and PRTS processes.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
3 years experience in Electrical or Manufacturing or Material
Candidate must be able to attend training in the GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) for thorough training before launch activities begin. AMEC is located in South-East Michigan at the Global Tech Center.
Ability to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st 2nd & 3rd)
Ability to work over-time weekends holidays etc. as needed
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills particularly to translate highly complex technical issues to non-technical people
Self-motivated and innovative
Strong analytical ability
Able to make decisions quickly with a high level of confidence
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
3 years previous experience with automotive electrical sub-systems
Thorough working knowledge of GMS and supporting BIQ4 Deliverables
