EDUCATION ASSISTANT (EA) Part-time temporary (0.8FTE)

ASSIGNMENT : Working with students in Gr.K-6

CLOSING DATE: Ongoing until a suitable candidate is determined

Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Academy has an immediate opening for an Education Assistant for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be a committed follower of Christ have training and experience as an Education Assistant and will feel comfortable working with students in Grades K-6 some of whom may be on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs.) The EA works closely with the classroom teacher(s) and will be expected to implement the learning plan that the teacher creates. The EA will also have supervision responsibilities outside at assigned times. The position is part-time at 0.8 FTE and is temporary terminating June 30 2026.

Salary Range

• (0.8FTE): $25574 - $30584 depending on qualifications

Qualifications

• Must have legal permission and documentation to work in Canada
• Must have a valid & current Criminal Record Check (through the Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General)
• Must have a minimum of a high school completion diploma
• A certificate or diploma in Education Assistant training would be an asset
• Experience working with children aged 5-12 in an educational setting would be an asset
• Must be able to accept and uphold the Gaglardi Academys Statement of Faith

Key Responsibilities

• Working with students in Gr.K-6 to support academic and/or behavioural and/or social learning
• Working with classroom teachers to implement programming organized by teachers
• Supervising students outside during recess breaks
• Attending all school meetings as required
