Job Summary

Overview

NaphCarehas an excellent opportunity for aPharmacy Technicianto join ourCorporate Headquarters in Birmingham ALsupporting the Residential Reentry Centers (RRC) for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).Under the direct supervision of the Director RRMB the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for receiving and approving prescription requests for the Residential Reentry Centers (RRC) residents.

Responsibilities

Position Expectations:

  • Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures company performance and accreditation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with RRC case managers BOP contacts NaphCare team members and third-party pharmacy provider. Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes.
  • Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards relevant statutes rules and regulations and organizational criteria.
  • Receive electronic prescription and refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Work with third-party pharmacy provider to approve overrides for costly medications.
  • Check bi-monthly invoices for accuracy and send for payment in a timely manner.
  • Work with Pharmacy Benefit Manager team to bring new pharmacies on board when needed.
  • Must complete sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license. Ensure that all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure accreditation regulatory agency requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity maintaining self-control when under pressure separating professional from personal issues displaying emotional maturity maintaining a high degree of integrity and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.
  • Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care.
  • Willingness to complete special projects as needed from management.
  • Willingness to work overtime if necessary..

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain a current unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience.
  • PTCB Certification is a plus.

If not certified must be able to acquire certification within 12 months of hire date.
