At this exciting time in our company ABC stone has an opportunity for an experienced Sales Tax Compliance Manager to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Sales Tax Compliance Manager oversees all aspects of sales tax compliance for a multi-state Natural Stone Wholesale distributor. This role ensures accurate tax calculation timely and compliant filings in coordination with external accounting partners proper nexus monitoring and full lifecycle management of resale and exemption certificates. The position partners closely with Accounting Sales and Operations to minimize financial and regulatory risk maintain audit-ready documentation and support seamless customer transactions across all jurisdictions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage multi-state sales tax compliance including nexus evaluation rate verification and taxability rules.
• Oversee the collection validation and maintenance of resale and exemption certificates.
• Ensure accurate tax configuration between Avalara and our ERP/financial systems.
• Liaises with our external accountants for preparing and submiting sales tax returns reconcile liability accounts and ensure timely payments.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for state tax audits and inquiries.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and compliance procedures.
• Train internal teams (Sales Customer Service AR) on tax requirements and certificate handling.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise leadership on compliance impacts.
• Support Accounts Receivable with customer setup credit reviews and tax-related disputes as needed
• A/R responsibilities as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Proficient with Accounting software & Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• CRM Experience (SalesForce a plus)
• Experience with Avalara sales tax management or similar software required

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field or equivalent experience
• At least three years related experience required.
• 1 Year Supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
• Experience with database management and electronic filling systems (Avalara a plus)

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary Range

$80000.00 - $110000.00 annually. Salary will be determined based on a candidates skills education and relevant work experience.
