Summer 2026 Consulting Internship Health Policy Analysis

BerryDunns Healthcare Analytics Practice Groupis seeking a highly motivated Consulting Intern to help support our growing Health Policy Analysis Practice. We provide economic actuarial and analytics services to both government and nonprofit clients. Work performed will be closely supervised through coaching and training. With guidance from staff members of the Consulting Team you will become familiar with the firms systems operations and relationships. The firm expects you to demonstrate flexibility have a willingness to seek out advice and exhibit an ambition for learning.

This fulltime internship will be based out of our Portland ME office.The internship dates are as follows: June 2 2026 to August 7 2026.

• Developan understanding of the general consulting process.
• Follow appropriate diagnostic data collection fact finding and data analysis practices.

• Develop skill in written and verbal communications.

• Gather manipulate and analyze healthcare data from a variety of sources

• Keep supervisors and others informed of status of assigned projects.

• Participate in staff/team meetings and training and work effectively as a team player on multiple client projects.

• Develop concise summaries reports and presentations of complex data for client leadership.

• Perform assigned administrative tasks effectively and efficiently.

• Assist in performing consulting engagements of all sizes. This may involve such tasks as conducting research assisting with detailed and technical aspects of the engagement documenting the engagement and assisting with engagement reporting.

• A Bachelors or MA degree Mathematics Statistics Political Science Public Health Economics Management Information Systems Health Care Management or Business
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of software (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint) required experience with Microsoft Visio Microsoft Teams and SharePoint desirable
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
• Strong attention to detail and quality and facility with numbers
• Self-starting and proactive approach to identifying and maintaining momentum for activities important to the busy team and its clients while flexibly responding to occasional deadline-driven sprints
• Excellent organizational abilities and administrative skills
• Strong interpersonal verbal and presentation skills
• Ability to stay ahead of deadlines and manage multiple client and internal priorities
• Writing/editing/proofreading experience
• Ability to communicate with management in an open and objective manner
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-based collaborative environment

• An effective communicator via email phone video or face to face
• Passionate about topics that affect public welfare and consumer protection
• Interested in healthcare-related topics including Medicaid and public health

The hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour. This rate range represents BerryDunns good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience education or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final rate may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The hourly rate for the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to years of experience depth of experience seniority merit education training amount of travel and other relevant business considerations.
