The responsibility of this role is to operate at the intersection of electrical engineering material science and advanced addition to optimizing PCB/PCBA fabrication and assembly.
This role is a critical component of the Global Core Electrical Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) team ensuring the industrialization of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Connectivity and Vehicle Electrification todays highly automated and data-driven environment the specialist must combine robust digital skills with deep electronic manufacturing process expertise to support global suppliers drive manufacturing excellence govern technical standards across the global supply base and ensuring suppliers compliance with Ford electronic manufacturing requirements and standards.
ResponsibilitiesWhat youll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Acts as a global lead and Subject Matter Expert for Electronic Manufacturing processes and Special Process Assessment (FEMR).
- Global resource for technical input during supplier sourcing process by assessing suppliers capability against Ford electronic manufacturing requirements.
- Coaches mentors and teaches process specialists leads Site STA and suppliers on special manufacturing process standards.
- Lead or support the development and implementation of new processes materials and electronic manufacturingtechnologies from concept to production.
- Drives Prevent Recurrence by deploying Ford/CQI manufacturing process standards lessons learned best practices and technical innovations.
- Drive implementation of statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) to enhance process stability capability and product quality.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends in manufacturing and outlines appropriate training needs across all regions.
- Lead Manufacturing Risk assessment pertaining to new electronic manufacturing technologies and support industrialization of new technologies.
- Lead Global Tech Club to share technical knowledge and best practices for electronic manufacturing.
- Assistwith problem solving recalibration alignment and training.
- Represents Ford for development of industry wide standards i.e. CQI/ IPC.
- Develop incremental knowledge base training modules SPLs and standards.
- Provide assistance to safety protocols and environmental regulations specific to Manufacturing operations.
- Conducts electronic manufacturing process assessments (SPAs) driven by a priority model.
Electronic manuafctruing DFM/DFA analysis to optimize manufacturability and ensure quality.
Automation & Machine Vision systems: Skilled in analysing machine settings to (pick-and-place solder printers reflow ovens) and machine vision systems (SPI AOI AXI) to verify compliance to Ford electronics manufacturing requirements.
Industry Standards & Compliance: Strong understanding and application of relevant electronic manufacturing standards (e.g. IPC 610600 IEC ISO 9000 ANSI S20.20 MIL IATF 16949) and material regulations.
Data Analytics & AI: Competence in collecting analyzing and visualizing PCB/PCBA production data (e.g. SPC dashboards) with awareness of AI/ML for defect detection and process optimization.
Quality & Test Systems: Ability to configure and interpret results from ICT FCT Boundary scan EOL equipment and manage traceability systems for electronic manufacturing/ PCBA quality control.
Cybersecurity Awareness: Basic understanding of cybersecurity to protect PCBA designs and manufacturing OT logics and controls systems.
Digital Collaboration: Proficient in using digital tools for project management document control and team communication.
Manufacturing Documentation: Competent in analysing and interpreting requirements in Ford electronic manufacturing SPA SOPs and process flow diagrams.
Tooling & Fixture Knowledge and Poke Yoke methods: Understanding of custom tooling fixtures and jigs used to optimize assembly and ensure repeatable quality.
Expert level knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes including smt assembly and testing for Connectivity and Vehicle Electrification.
Demonstrated experience in project management and/or program launch.

Youll have...
Education:
Bachelors in Engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with electronic manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience analysing machine settings to (pick-and-place solder printers reflow ovens) and machine vision systems (SPI AOI AXI).
- Understanding and application of relevant electronic manufacturing standards (e.g. IPC 610600 IEC ISO 9000 ANSI S20.20 MIL IATF 16949) and material regulations.
- Flexibility to travel across North American countries.

Masters in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written proficiency enabling clear persuasive communication effectively fostering collaboration across global teams.

- Advanced problem-solving skills.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $ 87000.00- $ 137000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
