Job Summary

Service: Administration
Starting Date: April 1 2026 or sooner
Shift and Hours of Work
: 1.0 FTE - full time-term-currently 08:30-17:45
Pay Scale: As per established salary scale
Specifications: Term ending March 31 2029 with possibility of extension. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of ten years experience working within a health or social services environment with 4-5 years focused on Person-Directed Living (PDL) philosophy or similar approach.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing projects.
  • Extensive experience delivering person-centred care/service delivery.
  • Experience designing and delivering education for/to health care/social services personnel and public audiences.
  • Previous experience leading teams as a supervisor and/or in a project role.
  • Experience applying tools and methodologies in organizational change management and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient using technology within a Microsoft Office environment

Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability to communicate verbally in both official languages (French and English) is strongly preferred;
  • Understands articulates and promotes a strengths based approach to supporting people with a clear understanding of human rights and person directed living vision and principles;
  • Leads by example and acts as a role model;
  • Builds and maintains strong interpersonal relationships with leadership staff residents families and other stakeholders;
  • Demonstrates superior communication skills: verbal and technical writing in English tailored to a variety of audiences with ability to effectively lead discussions;
  • Ability and comfort communicating and interacting with people who have physical and/or cognitive disabilities and may experience barriers to verbal communication;
  • Listens and seeks to understand to communicate effectively;
  • Empathizes with others perspectives and responds accordingly;
  • Uses positive influence and compassion to move towards a common vision/goal;
  • Exhibits well-developed analytical skills;
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and decision-making skills and exercises sound judgement;
  • Organizes workload efficiently and sets priorities;
  • Ability to work independently and safely with minimal supervision;
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change on a day to day basis;
  • Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record including attendance; and
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer;
  • Works safely without injury to self to residents/patients or to other staff;
  • Possesses physical and mental health to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

  • Knowledge of Person Directed Living (or similar) models of care/service delivery and approaches
  • Knowledge of change management approaches and strategies
  • Knowledge of adult education principles and delivery methods
This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.

Reporting to the Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer the Person Directed Living Coordinator will champion and support the strategic implementation of the Person Directed Living philosophy across the organization. The Coordinator will help develop an organizational roadmap and a framework to monitor and report on the quality outcomes of Person-Directed Living initiatives. The incumbent will act as a coach and a mentor to support the projects activities and implementation of person directed living projects.
