Mō te tūnga About the role

The National Retail Investigation Support Unit is a new incentive from New Zealand Police working in close partnership with key retail sector representatives like Retail New Zealand and Auror New Zealand.

The purpose of this unit is to:

  • Provide resources and guidance to retail shop owners in order to prevent retail crime and;
  • investigate and collate retail crime offending in New Zealand holding retail crime offenders to account

This is a national policing unit which will cover retail crime offending from all over New Zealand. It will identify retail crime offenders and intervene with the major goal of the unit being a reduction in retail crime.

Great opportunity to be part of a small highly driven team focusing on intervening with New Zealands top retail crime offenders. You will investigate gather evidence and collate multiple retail crime files to enable the apprehension of the suspect.

Whakaritenga motuhake Special requirements

  • New Zealand or Australian citizenship or a Permanent New Zealand Resident
  • Successful applicant must reside in Tamaki Makaurau or be willing to relocate to Tamaki Makaurau
  • Previous policing investigative knowledge is advantageous but not essential
  • A sound knowledge of computer applications in particular NIA Microsoft Office and Outlook suites

Utu ā-tau Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87306 and $91353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
