Teacher Special Education (Torrington Middle School)

Torrington Middle School in Torrington Wyoming is seeking a certified special education teacher for the school year. Salary is based on education and experience. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health vision and dental insurance. The start date is August 10 2026.

Torrington Middle School serves students in grades 6-8. This position will work with students who have significant support needs providing individualized academic behavioral and functional skill instruction in alignment with each students IEP.

Purpose Statement

The job of Teacher - Special Education was established for the purpose/s of developing special education students success in academics interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities outcomes; addressing students specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations goals etc.

This position reports to the building principal.

Experience Job related experience is desired.

Education Bachelor degree in Special Education.

Continuing Educ./Training Maintains PTSB certification by earning 5 credit hours per every 5 year renewal period
