Summary/Objective:
The Financial Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial and operational data to evaluate profitability cost trends and overall operational effectiveness. This role partners closely with Sales Operations Estimating and Project Management to ensure accurate cost reporting improve processes and support data-driven decision-making aligned with the Companys strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret accounting and operational data to evaluate profitability cost drivers trends and variances impacting business performance
- Review sales order packages for completeness accuracy and alignment with financial and operational requirements
- Track open orders and prepare weekly projections and forecasts
- Perform product and job cost analysis identifying discrepancies risks and opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement
- Develop maintain and enhance KPI dashboards and reporting tools tied to the Companys strategic plan
- Recommend improvements to financial processes controls and policies to reduce costs and maximize profitability
- Support annual external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations Estimating and Project Management to ensure accurate costing and financial visibility
- Assist with and/or lead ad hoc financial analysis projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as required to support Finance and business operations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas pivot tables and financial modeling
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger transactions
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI Tableau or similar) is a plus
- Excel programming or automation experience (VBA) is a plus
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guideline
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Economics or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis cost accounting or a related role

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
