Job Summary

Orthopedic Hand Surgeon

Position Summary

The Orthopedic Hand Surgeon provides comprehensive evaluation surgical and non-surgical treatment of conditions affecting the hand wrist and upper extremity. This role includes management of traumatic injuries degenerative conditions congenital abnormalities and work-related or repetitive-use disorders. The surgeon works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered orthopedic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat disorders of the hand wrist and upper extremity
  • Perform elective and emergent surgical procedures within the scope of hand surgery
  • Manage traumatic injuries including fractures tendon nerve and soft tissue injuries
  • Provide non-operative care such as injections splinting and rehabilitation planning
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and test results
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in call coverage for hand and upper-extremity trauma as required
  • Collaborate with therapists advanced practice providers and referring physicians
  • Educate patients and families regarding conditions treatment options and recovery
  • Maintain accurate timely and compliant medical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement patient safety and clinical education activities

Practice Setting

  • Hospital and outpatient clinic settings
  • Elective and urgent surgical care environments
  • May include trauma or emergency department consult coverage

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
  • Fellowship training in Hand Surgery (orthopedic or plastic surgerybased)
  • Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing state
  • DEA registration or eligibility
