District Managers function as the direct contact for their district stores. This role reports to the Director of Stores and works closely with other District Managers to ensure consistency of performance sales recruitment and leadership.
Crew Position:
- Support the direction of the brand through merchandise assortments appropriate to regional markets and promote the use of Product Knowledge as a tool to enhance employee productivity sales and service levels.
- Ensure strong partnerships with the merchant team by providing regional and seasonal input in the execution of the buys.
- Serve as a conduit of information between the merchandising teams and consumer feedback
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure their district stays within budget
- Work closely with the visual team to ensure that visual/virtual visits are conducted consistently. Monitoring and reviewing store visuals monthly for proper execution.
- Hold weekly Area Manager meetings covering KPIs coaching training strategies to improve productivity and growth etc.
- Filter all information from retail team to Corporate
- Attends weekly corporate meetings.
- Assist SVP with the growth of the retail team by creating and implementing structure as needed.
- Cultivating talent is top of mind through promoting from within and recruiting.
- Validate monthly schedules and requests for the district aways ensuring proper coverage of the sales floor. Support short-staffed underperforming locations and new store openings by taking over management as needed. Staying within budget for payroll %.
- Will review and approve all timekeeping and vacation requests for their district.
- Work closely with HR for all HR needs in their district.
- Responsible for approving/reviewing commissions for accuracy.
- In addition to the above duties District Managers will be responsible for

- Traffic Report
- Salesfloor Training and support
- Monthly Incentives
- Work closely with the Area Manager Visual Team Director of Operations Director of Stores IT and Merchandise Team for new store openings in their district.
- Receives and reviews all helpdesk emails and KWI emails from the district. Trains as needed.
- Reviews and approves all office supplies and supply orders for their district.
- Ensure Area Managers and Store Managers adhere to and uphold the culture of Johnny Was by conducting quarterly visits weekly coaching effective training quarterly touch-bases and following up on visual visitation.
- Conduct random store visits where needed to ensure that the Johnny Was culture
- Implementing Fraud/loss prevention protocols.
- Supervise Inventory for district.
