Job Summary
The job of IT User Support Technician is done for the purpose/s of installing and maintaining computer hardware and software; resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and providing in-service training and documentation of applications and hardware. Additionally this position provides support to telecom equipment and performs CAT5 cable installation and repair.
This job reports to the IT Manager.
Essential functions of the job include:
- Assesses malfunctions to computer hardware and software
- Attendsmeetings classes and seminarsas assigned
- Installs troubleshoots and repairs CAT5 cabling; installs configures and repairs computer hardware and software; provides basic telecom support (e.g. phone handset troubleshooting cross-connects and programming)
- Transports various items (e.g. equipment supplies etc.)
- Assists other technical personnel as needed.
Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Requirements: Pre-employment proficiency testing Valid Drivers License & Evidence of Insurability and Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearance.
This is a 12-month position.
