Middle School Dean of Student Life

Delaware County Christian School is seeking a Middle School Dean of Student Life responsible for cultivating a Christ-centered culture that supports student growth in character accountability and community life. This role provides leadership in student discipline behavioral expectationsstudent activitiesand spiritual formation partnering closely with school leadership faculty and families to ensure a thriving middle school environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work in conjunction with the Head of Middle School MS School Counselor faculty and staff to cast a vision for Christ-centered community life in the Christian school environment
• Work to ensure that faculty staff and students are fully aware of procedural and behavioral expectations. This position is the lead administrator in the area of student accountability and discipline. Dean is particularly responsible for:
  • Ensuring that students are in dress code on a daily basis
  • Tracking student attendance
    
  • Issuing and scheduling student detentions
  • Partnering with the Head of Middle school in disciplinary situations involving violations of DCs Honor Code

• Work in conjunction with the Athletic Department on a weekly basis to determine and subsequently inform athletes that may be or will be deemed academically ineligible.

• Work in conjunction with Student Life reps from each division to ensure cohesion of schoolwide Student Life initiatives
• Assign students to Advisories annually in collaboration with the Head of Middle School and MS School Counselor

• Plan and schedule Middle School chapel program in collaboration with MS administrative team

• Serve as lead Division Administrator when the MS Head is off campus or unavailable.
• Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and solid understanding of the Word of God. There should be evidence of a godly lifestyle based on a commitment to Jesus Christ.
  
• A passion for Christian education paired with a commitment to DCs mission and alignment with biblical values.
  

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred
• A minimum of five years of experience in Education must include Leadership role(s)

Organizational Relationships:The Middle SchoolDean of Student Lifewill serve on DCs Leadership Team and reports directly to the Head of Middle School.
