Your future role

As a Group Leader you will align with and support the production teams enabling them to perform in line with overall goals and targets particularly regarding safety productivity quality and cost. Reporting into the Production Manager you will ensure standardised work practices and promote open twoway communication team empowerment and bestpractice sharing across all teams. You will hold both personnel and disciplinary responsibility and establish regular information and communication frameworks. Acting as a role model you will support team members directly or by engaging the appropriate support personnel ensuring teams consistently meet their performance targets. Your role will also include a strong focus on EHS (Environment Health and Safety) protecting people and the environment as well as implementing Kaizen. You will monitor and improve problemsolving and escalation processes and apply key leanmanufacturing principles such as Takt Time and Cycle Time.

Well look to you for:

  • Issuing risk assessments for all activities within your sector and ensuring that accident and injury prevention is embedded into the working environment and every operational task. You will be responsible for maintaining safety standards and creating detailed action plans for safety improvements while having clear ownership of all critical operational risks.

  • Maintaining quality control in line with company and contractual requirements continuously evaluating and improving methods and processes.

  • Supporting the problemresolution process with production and support functions and providing detailed daily/weekly reports covering production issues shortages hours and other key performance information.

  • Assigning teams to maximise production within budgeted labour hours and consumables and setting daily production priorities. You will anticipate needs for parts materials and tools ensuring availability when required. Close coordination with upstream and downstream workstations Methods Engineering and other departments will be essential for optimised workflow.

  • Validating with Planning the correct production sequence and manpower requirements for your area and initiating manpower requisitions when needed.

  • Promoting training to improve and expand skills within your team including identifying rotational plans and developing autonomous/selfmanaged teams. You will maintain discipline and lead the workforce in line with company policies encouraging strong teamwork and the empowerment of production employees. Measuring and monitoring performance will be a key part of your responsibilities.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. We dont expect you to tick every box but here are some key skills and experiences that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Significant experience in a manufacturing environment in a managerial or supervisory position.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes tools documentation and IT systems.

  • Knowledge of: EHS (Environment Health and Safety) Takt Time Cycle Time Kaizen Material flow processes Andon systems

  • Experience with manufacturing and quality processes and an understanding of interfaces between production quality and project functions.

  • Familiarity with shopfloor management tools and methods Value Stream Analysis and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) a structured method for identifying and reducing process risks.

  • Recommended: Experience in Quality Methods or Production Control.

  • Experience with labour relations and daily shopfloor management.

  • Strong understanding of valuestream analysis techniques.

On a more personal level you will also need to be:

  • Selfmotivated with a strong desire to learn

  • Able to work independently when required

  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
