Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team the FNE is responsible for delivery of nursing care to a patient population that has been affected by violence which may include but is not limited to adult and child sexual assault and intimate partner violence. This care includes complete medical forensic exams administration of prescribed medical treatments a leadership role within the healthcare team and facilitating coordination of patient care discharge and patient follow up. Nursing care is provided utilizing the nursing process for a complete medical forensic exam.
The FNE assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the healthcare team. Using Telehealth the FNE provides consultation clinical guidance and support to healthcare providers around the province as appropriate.
