Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED PlusGraduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technology program OR NCCT-approved Surgical Technology programOR Completed military surgical/scrub tech training OR Have two or more years of on-the-job surgical/scrub experience in an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year Operating room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)
Scrub Tech Certification
Orthopedic experience

Responsibilities
Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation supplies and equipment for assigned cases.
Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases with appropriate equipment available and ready for surgical use.
Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy;
independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits;
Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following days cases;
Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.
Utilizes available communication tools;
demonstrates teamwork by offering assistance to other team members;
Shares knowledge information and expertise with other staff;
attends departmental in-services and other educational offerings;
Consistently demonstrates new knowledge and skills through incorporation into actual clinical practice.
Willing to learn new techniques.
With any other duties assigned
Customer Service: Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers management team and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines. Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
