Lead Digital/Data C5ISR Force Development and Capability Sponsorship to support the delivery of Digital/Data and C5ISR capabilities. Understand and articulate what military capability the Royal Navy does and does not require and at what level of urgency in order to maintain effectiveness today and to deliver advantage in the future. | |||||
Development Directorate Digital and Data Vision Statement. To deliver the Digital/Data and C5ISR capabilities required to enable technologically superior Naval Forces. These capabilities will be delivered considering Through Life Capability Management across all the Defence Lines of Development (DLODs). As NAVY DIGITAL SO2 you are responsible to SO1 NAVY IW DEV Mgr for the provision of contextually aware timely and considered advice on all aspects of future Digital/ Data Command and Control Communication Computers Cyber Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities. You will work in conjunction and collaboratively with the Digital Directorate who will assist with context and SME knowledge providing staff resource when required. You will have regular engagement with those organisations in the Operate pillar to assist with the generation of requirements and conduct experimentation. The role requires routine engagement with other FLCs and UKSC to ensure RN equity is maintained in programmes projects and activities that reside outside of the Navy Command. As the SO2 DIGITAL you are responsible for setting the conceptual headmark for capabilities seek funding for new capabilities and develop the mandates for acquisition and delivery teams. | |||||
Responsibilities | |||||
Assisting SO1 IW Dev in the generation and management of RN Digital/Data C5ISR capabilities and provision of SME support as required. | the | ||||
Be knowledgeable of the Navy Command Operating Model and the processes to enable financial approval concept and capability development. | |||||
As directed by SO1 IW Dev develop and maintain interaction with coalition and Allied partners in support of Hd Navy Digital Dev and Dir Dev. | |||||
Deploy in support of exercises and meetings as required to support NAVY Digital Dev outputs. | |||||
Providing Dig/Data advice to TTX exercises and operations as required. | |||||
Assist SO1 IW Dev with the Navy Dig Dev teams Information Management processes including the Capability Management Plans in conjunction with Navy Dig Directorate. | |||||
Assist SO1 Dev with the management of risk held by Hd Navy Dig Dev. | |||||
Deputise for SO1 IW Dev in his absence. | |||||
Attend Working Groups CWIGs and CPGs as directed. | |||||
Engage with industry and manage relationships against prioritised objectives and outputs. | |||||
Manage processes and projects in line with SCRUM and Agile methodology. | |||||
Plan and co-ordinate experimentation for C5ISR Cap Dev co-ordinated with the Digital DST. | |||||
Plan and Deliver projects assigned by Hd of Navy Digital Dev and/or SO1 IW Dev | |||||
Co-ordinate the weekly team SCRUM meeting |

Ensuring that you and your subordinates are familiar with the underlying principles of BC and your responsibilities in the MIXG AND NAVY SPECAP BC Plan and any relevant supporting documents. Resource Management. The efficient organisation management and administration of the resources allocated to you and your subordinates including the issue of detailed TORs to subordinates as required. Data Protection. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act you have responsibility for ensuring that any Personal Data held or generated by you and your subordinates is handled iaw the following principles: (1) Fairly and lawfully processed. (Processing has a wide definition under the Act and includes just about anything that can be done with data including simply holding it.). (2) Processed for a limited purpose. (3) Adequate relevant and not excessive. (4) Accurate and kept up to date. (5) Not kept longer than necessary. (6) Processed in accordance with the individuals right. (7) Kept secure. (8) Not transferred to other countries without adequate protection. ANNUAL OBJECTIVES Objectives will be agreed annually.
