ABOUT YOU
We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join the Allied Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) as Staff Officer (Business Continuity) NATO Grade 15.
In this role you will support the Business Continuity (BC) Cell Head initiating and facilitating the BC planning process and BC cycle into all aspect of JSEC planning and doctrine. You will oversee develop and conduct JSECs planning training and validation as well as facilitate the on-going conduct of ACO wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Analysis.
Additionally you will be required to liaise with NATO Headquarters as well as other ACO BC communities to support ACO-wide coordination collaboration and standardization.
In a military environment business continuity isnt just about keeping operations running its about mission assurance under pressure. You will therefore demonstrate a skill set that blends technical continuity planning with command awareness discipline and calm decision-making. At all levels you will be expected to exercise sound judgment and demonstrate well-developed analytical and critical-thinking skills.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must have
University Degree in business administration engineering economics public administration operations research business process engineering or related discipline and 2 years function related experience or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.;
Civilian education on CBCI course;
Skill level experience in contributing to the development of a continuity management plan to include planning designing and testing);
Experience in investigating and reporting hazards and potential risks;
Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems;
A good command of English both written and spoken.
The following would be considered as an advantage:
Flexibility to work outside normal office hours in response to crises and urgent requirements;
Profound knowledge and experience built over several years paired with the ability to sustain effective analysis development and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs);
Profound experience in managing significant area of responsibility supporting a Command Group (preferably NATO Command Group experience);
Professional Business Continuity Management qualification preferably from a BC Institute approved source;
Experienced in leading operational components of managing cross-functional military and civilian expertise;
Experience of conducting Risk Management;
Any further training certificates and courses related to subject field or acquired through NATO (e.g.: Resource Management Orientation Course );
YOUR ROLE
Provides BCP Project Management and oversight.
Participates in a strategic communication campaign to update JSECs BCP methodology ACO-wide.
Develops JSECs Survivability and Resilience capability in close co-ordination with ACO wide program.
Oversees the development and conduct of BC planning and exercise training.
Facilitates the on-going development of ACO-wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Analysis.
Coordinates with the BC Programme Managers to continuously review JSEC and ACO BC Plans.
Test trains and exercises JSEC and ACO/SC BC Plans.
Provides BC Plan and documentation maintenance in accordance with ACO policy. Finalise distribute the BC Plans.
Conducts annual self-assessment and facilitate assurance visits from SHAPE IMBC
Remark:
You may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO boundaries. You may also be directed to undertake operational duties supporting JSECs role in enablement the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow. You must be able to understand all aspects of JSEC and ACO processes and outcomes in order to integrate a BC mindset into all aspects of operational outputs and exercises

while remaining calm and effective in high-stress high-stakes situations;

Ability to respond effectively to real-world incidents not just theoretical scenarios.

Headquarters JSEC provides a resilient operational-level Joint Headquarters capable of supporting 24/7 operations to coordinate enablement (at the operational level) and on order the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow in order to contribute to the Alliances ability to project and sustain combat power into a Joint Operations Area (JOA).
The Management Directorate (MGT) is responsible for the integration coordination and implementation of services activities and facilities management across the HQ to support the mission. The Information Management and Resilience Branch (IMR) is responsible for effective risk management business continuity Survivability and Resilience (S&R) as well as Staff Workflow and Information and Knowledge Management.
The Business Continuity Cell is responsible for enhancing the functional resilience of the HQ through the development of business continuity plans and procedures.

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on NATOS Single Salary Spine scale;
