Job Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Director to lead the BioProduction Group (BPG) business in Japan. This role is responsible for driving commercial strategy and execution to achieve revenue and profitability targets while strengthening market leadership and customer satisfaction. The Director will lead a cross-functional team across sales marketing and technical functions and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commercial strategies to achieve or exceed annual sales and OPEX targets
- Drive revenue growth and expand the BioProduction customer base in Japan
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts
- Lead develop and inspire a cross-functional team of sales marketing and technical professionals
- Communicate business performance and insights clearly to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product Management Technical Support QA/RA FP&A Operations and Legal teams
- Provide commercial input into new product development and regional go-to-market strategies
- Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics to guide strategic decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; degree in Biotechnology Life Sciences or a related scientific field preferred
- Proven leadership experience in commercial roles within life sciences bioproduction or related industries; experience in bioproduction or adjacent industries is preferred but not required
- Strong track record of driving sales growth and managing cross-functional teams
- Bilingual capability required: native-level Japanese and business-level or above English proficiency
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix and global organization
