Job Summary
Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient facility operations. This role requires hands-on experience with HVAC systems electrical components and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate is proactive safety-focused and capable of working independently to resolve maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect maintain and repair HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including wiring lighting breakers and equipment controls
- Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Maintain facility infrastructure including plumbing fixtures doors and structural components
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility procedures
- Maintain maintenance logs work orders and inspection records
- Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required
- Keep work areas clean organized and safe
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or industrial maintenance
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
- Electrical experience including basic wiring diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to read technical manuals schematics and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to lift equipment climb ladders and work in various environments
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification or related technical training
- Electrical certification or trade school education
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Familiarity with safety regulations and preventative maintenance programs
