Duty Schedule:

32 Hours Per Week. Sunday-Saturday 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM - possible late hours and weekends.

Summary/Objective of Position:

Office Research Assistant supports institutional efforts to improve student outcomes by assisting with research data collection analysis and administrative operations. This role contributes to evidence-based decision-making by maintaining accurate records preparing reports and supporting student success initiatives through organized research and office support activities.

Office Research Assistant position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collect organize and maintain accurate student success-related dta from multiple sources in support of research assessment and reporting activities.
  • Assist with data entry validation and basic analysis to support student retention engagement and academic success initiatives.
  • Prepare research summaries reports tables and presentations for internal use by Student Success leadership and campus stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidential records and handle sensitive student information in compliance with FERPA institutional policies and ethical research standards.
  • Provide administrative and operational support such as scheduling meetings maintaining organized files tracking project timelines and documenting outcomes.
  • Support the planning implementation and assessment of student success programs initiatives and interventions.
  • Conduct literature reviews and background research on best practices trends and evidence-based strategies related to student success and higher education.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with staff faculty and campus partners to support collaborative projects and data requests.
  • Utilize standard office and research software i.e. word processing spreadsheets databases and data visualization tools to complete assigned tasks.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously prioritize responsibilities and meet established deadlines with minimal supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Minimum & Preferred:

  • Minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Be enrolled part (7 credit hours) or full-time student at Dine College in Spring 2026 semester.
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at Dine College and have completed at 24 credit hours at the College.
  • Must be in good academic and social standing.

Knowledge:

  • Ability to perform accurate detailed work with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and collaborative professionally with members of the campus community.
  • Ability to adapt and perform efficiently in a feast-paced evolving work environment.
  • Ability to adhere to established work rules follow directions manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in operating an office workstations and utilizing standard office software including word processing spreadsheet and related applications.
  • Ability to comply with and follow all applicable College policies and procedures plus the Colleges 3PM Manual and Student Code of Conduct.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in group settings.
  • Dependable responsible and detail-oriented with a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Moderate experience with Audio and Visual Setup including basic troubleshooting for meetings and events.
  • Knowledge and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in MS Word Outlook Publisher Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to coordinate organize and support meetings and special events efficiently and professionally.
  • Knowledge of Navajo Culture & Language preferred.

Abilities:

  • Ability to performs moderately complex clerical duties including assisting with data collection compiling statistics and maintaining long-range calendars of multiple venues and programs
  • Ability to coordinate multiple recreational educational and social programs simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards while remaining adaptable to varied work settings as needed
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends based on programmatic and operational needs

Physical Requirements Work Environment & Travel:

  • The position requires average ability and good physical condition;
  • The ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to approximately 25 to 50 pounds;
  • Work may require sitting near vision use for reading and computer use lifting stooping bending stretching walking standing pushing pulling reaching and other physical exertion.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to speak fluently in Navajo but not mandatory.
