Job Summary

Job Title: Lead System Analyst (Laboratory Information Management Systems) - Hybrid

Duration (Contract): 5 Months

Client Location: Lansing MI 48933

Location Preference: Hybrid

Job Description:
As a Lead System Analyst you will play a key role in leading the implementation of new Laboratory Information Management Systems while providing ongoing maintenance enhancement and oversight for critical laboratory applications. You will act as a bridge between laboratory users and technical teams ensuring systems support accurate tracking reporting data integrity security and compliance. This role contributes directly to improving automated workflows reducing manual processing and supporting reliable public health operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead requirements elicitation analysis and documentation with laboratory stakeholders.
Translate laboratory workflows into functional requirements and user stories.
Conduct gap analysis between current processes and system capabilities.
Support implementation configuration enhancement and maintenance of LIMS solutions.
Coordinate with vendors and technical teams on upgrades integrations and issue resolution.
Analyze laboratory workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend automation solutions.
Maintain system documentation SOPs and user guides.
Facilitate user acceptance testing workshops and training sessions.
Provide application oversight and guidance to analysts supporting related systems.

Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:

Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science or a related laboratory science field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in requirements elicitation documentation and stakeholder management.
Strong experience with LIMS platforms such as Clinisys STARLIMS or LabWare.
Extensive experience in process mapping gap analysis and solution design.
Proven background in data migration and system implementation projects.
Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
Understanding of system integrations data concepts and laboratory workflows.
Experience creating training plans documentation and delivering user training.
Familiarity with work item management tools such as Azure DevOps.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $45.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
