Longmeadow is a suburban community of Springfield MA known for its tradition of educational excellence collaborative teamwork and continuous improvement. Candidates must be able to apply strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a shared commitment to school improvement and student learning. Candidates must be committed to deeper learning for all students through identity-based instruction and be passionate about creating schools of belonging. Previous successful elementary school leadership experience is desired with a demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead learning and teaching. Candidates should possess a Masters degree or higher and a valid MA license as a school principal. RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Effective Instructional Leadership1.1 Facilitate the development of a shared mission and vision.1.2 Apply current learning principles practices and research to foster effective teaching and student learning.1.3 Value and promote diversity and inclusion.1.4 Lead the renewal of curriculum and instructional programs including the use of a variety of teaching and assessment strategies.1.5 Promote and model the effective use of appropriate instructional technology.1.6 Supervise evaluate and hold staff accountable for implementing high standards and positive expectations that all students can perform at high levels.1.7 Provide and support ongoing professional development and professional and personal well-being for staff.2. Effective Organizational Leadership2.1 Apply research and organizational leadership skills in developing a climate of continuous improvement based on research and data.2.2 Communicate clearly directly and responsively.2.3 Plan for model and encourage collaboration and shared decision-making.2.4 Lead strategic planning that fosters systemic approaches and results in sound decisions.2.5 Use data and information as the basis for identifying and solving problems.2.6 Promote a positive school climate that encourages appropriate behavior promotes positive self-concept fosters personal growth prevents and intervenes in inappropriate behavior and stimulates effective learning.3. Effective Administration and Management3.1 Maintain school compliance with all federal state and local laws and regulations.3.2 Lead personnel selection supervision evaluation and management functions for the school.3.3 Apply current knowledge of policy and legal requirements in managing the school.3.4 Apply current knowledge of fiscal management policy and practice for the school.3.5 Manage school operations including scheduling personnel management facilities management information management and other aspects of school life.)3.6 Use appropriate technologies to administer responsibilities.3.7 Manage preparation of all necessary federal state and local reports grant applications and other documents for the school.4. Promotion of Equity and Appreciation of Diversity4.1 Ensure equity among programs and learning opportunities for staff students and Relationships With The Community5.1 Assess the needs of parents and community members involve them in decision-making and develop appropriate information and service programs.5.2 Promote partnerships among staff parents business and the community.5.3 Interpret articulate and promote the vision mission programs activities and services of the school and district.6.
