Position Summary:
The Respiratory Therapy Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Cardiopulmonary Services department ensuring the safe and effective delivery of respiratory care across inpatient and emergency settings. This role oversees staffing clinical workflows and adherence to evidence-based respiratory practices to support high-quality patient outcomes. Working collaboratively with physicians nursing staff and diagnostic teams the Respiratory Therapy Manager strengthens interdisciplinary communication coordinates patient care and maintains readiness for emergent respiratory needs. The position also guides quality improvement initiatives regulatory compliance and resource management within a supportive team-oriented department focused on delivering consistent high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day to day respiratory therapy operations ensuring safe timely and clinically appropriate care for patients with cardiopulmonary needs.
- Supervise and support respiratory therapists through scheduling coaching competency oversight and performance feedback.
- Develop review and implement departmental policies procedures and clinical standards in alignment with regulatory and professional guidelines.
- Monitor quality metrics evaluate departmental performance and lead improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with nursing medical staff and other departments to support integrated patient care and effective communication.
- Manage equipment needs supply utilization and other operational resources to ensure continuous service availability.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Must be a Respiratory Therapist by NBRC and licensed in ND.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required within 30 days of hire.
Educational Requirements:
- Official diploma or transcript from the school/university where the Degree was received.
Experience Requirements:
- Sufficient previous experience as a respiratory therapist with supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
The Respiratory Therapy Manager is frequently required to stand walk and move throughout patientcare areas to oversee clinical activities and assist staff. The role may involve helping with patient positioning transporting respiratory equipment and handling oxygen cylinders or devices requiring moderate physical exertion. Adequate vision hearing and manual dexterity are essential for assessing patient conditions reviewing documentation and responding to urgent respiratory situations.
