What youll be doing

The role will be field based responsible for supporting and enhancing clinical governance across Boots Opticians.

Our Professional Services team ensures safe effective and patient-focused care across the organisation and supports the continual strengthening of clinical governance.

The position will require travel to Nottingham Support Office as well as additional travel to other locations required.

Key responsibilities

Reporting into the Professional Services Officer you will support a variety of key activities including:

  • Developing and maintaining our clinical policy programme ensuring robust standards and controls are in place to protect our colleagues our customers and our brand.

  • Reviewing and approving customer and colleague facing material ensuring all content is accurate fit for purpose and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitoring feedback relating to our Locum colleagues highlighting themes and identifying potential areas of risk.

  • Managing clinical enquires via Professional Services serving as a key point of contact for clinical governance and regulatory matters and delivering clear expert guidance to teams across the business.

What youll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Qualified Optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)

  • Previous experience of working in a clinical governance role

  • Experience of policy development within a healthcare organisation

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation within healthcare including the Opticians Act GOC Standards of Practice College of Optometrists ABDO FODO and whistleblowing/duty of candour

  • Experience of small-medium sized project management

  • An excellent writer and communicator

  • Must show strong attention to detail

  • Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Ability to spot trends from data analysis to suggest continual improvement across the business

It would be great if you also have

  • Strong IT skills in particular Excel and Powerpoint
