Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Continuous Miner (CM) Section Foreman to lead underground production crews safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for daily production crew leadership hazard recognition regulatory compliance and maintaining a strong safety culture while meeting operational goals.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong underground experience excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage people production and safety simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a CM section crew during underground mining operations
Ensure strict compliance with MSHA regulations company policies and safety standards
Conduct and document pre-shift on-shift and post-shift examinations
Identify hazards and take immediate corrective action
Coordinate production activities to meet tonnage and operational targets
Communicate effectively with crews maintenance safety and management
Enforce safe work practices and promote accountability within the crew
Complete required reports inspections and documentation accurately and timely
Train mentor and develop crew members to strengthen performance and safety
Respond appropriately to emergencies and changing underground conditions

Required Qualifications

Prior underground coal mining experience
Prior experience as a CM Foreman Section Foreman or Lead Miner preferred
Valid MSHA Foreman Certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of continuous miner operations and underground safety practices
Ability to lead crews make sound decisions under pressure and maintain production flow
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work rotating shifts and in underground conditions

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated history of safe compliant production leadership
Experience with production reporting and electronic or written shift documentation
Strong mentoring and coaching mindset
Familiarity with mine-specific ventilation roof control and emergency procedures

Sufco Mining Operations is located in Sevier County Utah approximately 30 miles northeast of Salina and 125 miles south of Salt Lake City. Sufco employs approximately 425 individuals and operates a longwall and three continuous miner sections. The mine produces 3.5 to 4.0 million tons per year of high BTU low sulfur coal. Sufco is truck served with ability to reach local and international markets via access to local rail transloading facilities.
