Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York Citys leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children youth and families homeless individuals and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families out-of-school and out-of-work youth and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville and seek to deliver programs that are impactful innovative and intergenerational.

Intro/Program Description: The Goddard Riverside Options Center supports New Yorkers to enroll in and complete college by counseling teens and adults and training school and community professionals. Options has supported young people to enroll in college since 1985 professionals to support others since 2005 and college students to persist in college since 2012. Options currently serves over 2000 people a year.

Position Summary: The Trainer / Project Manager supports the delivery coordination and continuous improvement of Options Institute trainings. This role is responsible for facilitating high-quality professional development workshops managing key training logistics and data maintaining up-to-date curricula and materials and counseling a small caseload of students on college access. The position combines facilitation evaluation and project management to ensure trainings are effective well-organized and aligned with organizational goals.

Schedule:Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Salary Range: $66300 - $70000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salaryoffer will be basedonthe candidates number of years experience in the exact orcomparableposition and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.



Qualifications

Roles Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual full-day and half-day workshops for high school counselors college advisors community-based organization (CBO) staff volunteers and students
  • Support the development revision and ongoing maintenance of workshop curricula slide decks handouts and facilitator guides
  • Maintain accurate training records including attendance tracking for all workshops and events
  • Administer collect and manage pre- and post-workshop evaluations; support basic analysis and reporting of training outcomes
  • Assist with training-related project management including timelines deliverables coordination with internal staff and participant follow-up
  • Prepare and organize training materials and resources for in-person and virtual delivery
  • Follow up with training participants regarding evaluations resources and promised deliverables
  • Participate in data review and reflection meetings to support continuous improvement of training content and delivery
  • Counsel a small caseload (10 or fewer) of high school students on college access and application processes
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at state and national conferences
  • Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience counseling students on college access and success or working in college admissions preferred
  • Experience with low-income or underrepresented students preferred
  • Previous training or facilitation experience required

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the U.S. higher education system particularly in NYC and NYS
  • Familiarity with college admissions financial aid and postsecondary pathways
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint) and web-based applications including virtual meeting and data-tracking tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
