Position Purpose

This position ensures that the image of our company is reflected in the appearance and condition of our equipment. The Paint and Body Specialist is to maintain our high standards of safety and extend the life of our assets.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

• File grind sand and smooth filled or repaired services using power tools and hand tools
• Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers windows and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint.
• Follow supervisors instructions as to which parts to restore or replace and how much time the job should take.
• Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns air grinders and wrenches and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Cut and tape plastic separating film to outside repair areas to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during repair procedures and remove tape and wash surfaces after repairs are complete.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
• Ability to apply knowledge in multiple areas of vehicle body repair and materials.
• Ability to watch gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Ability to fabricate paint assemble or disassemble vehicles using hand or power tools.
• Knowledge of fiberglass repair techniques and how to properly prepare surfaces for repairs.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old.
• Completion of an automotive training program. Vocation or technical school preferred.
• 2 years of body and paint experience.

Other Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing.
• Chest X-ray at hire and annually per OSHA standards.
• Must supply own hand tools and toolboxes. Tools must meet or exceed minimum tool list.
