2026-2027 Middle School English Teacher

Summary

Franklin Road Academy seeks a full-time English/Language Arts teacher in the Middle School. Candidates with experience teaching English in the middle grades are preferred. Exposure to and experience integrating technology into the curriculum is desired. All candidates should aspire to be a part of a collaborative faculty that resonates with FRAs mission to provide a challenging educational environment an inclusive Christian community with an unwavering commitment to develop leaders of integrity and purpose. The English Department will meet regularly to share best practices and ensure a collegial atmosphere of growth and development. Candidates for this position should have a passion for their content area and have a desire to grow as instructors and mentors of students. Community life is a huge part of FRA as teachers regularly attend games recitals and other campus events outside the classroom. All teachers at FRA are advisors of groups of 8-10 students that meet for 20 minutes daily and teachers are strongly encouraged to lead clubs coach teams and integrate themselves in the school community.

Essential Functions

The tasks duties and responsibilities of this job include but are not limited to:

• Develop curriculum to meet the needs of the class through the creation of assessments of various types
• Serve as advisor for a group of 8-10 students that meet daily
• Meet weekly with their grade-level team in a collaborative effort to support the students
• Meet regularly with their department to ensure streamlined curricula expectations and best-practice pedagogy
• Performs general teaching tasks such as tracking attendance assigning homework grading assignments giving feedback and communicating effectively with students at all skill levels
• Maintains regularly scheduled office hours and other faculty responsibilities
• Maintain scope and sequence documentation for the curriculum

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Bachelors Degree required Masters degree preferred
• Independent school teaching preferred
