Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $84000.00 - $127875.00. In addition this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to: scope of role level of experience education accomplishments internal equity budget and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

JOB DESCRIPTION/POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership

  • Exercises Leadership - Oversees others. Supervises Coordinators
  • Exercises Leadership - Manages credentialing processes at main campus and regional sites. Oversees all aspects of credentialing of HSS Medical Staff Allied Health Professional Staff and Graduate Medical Education Staff for initial and reappointments as required by TJC NYS DOH NCQA ACGME and HSS Medical Board as applicable.
  • Exercises Leadership - Manages operations. Oversees operations of the credentialing office and assumes departmental leadership as needed.
  • Exercises Leadership - Meets with faculty. Meets with Faculty to review new Program requests and Delineation of Privileges.
  • Coaching & Development Helps staff grow in areas such as primary-source verification payer enrollment or data integrity.

Operational

  • Clear Expectations & Accountability Sets measurable KPIs for turnaround times accuracy productivity and compliance
  • Delegation & Workload Balancing Manages capacity during peak volumes reappointments and onboarding cycles.
  • Ensures Quality Outcomes - Serves as liaison. Acts as liaison between graduate medical trainees external GME Offices and Departmental offices and HSS Medical Staff Office Legal Affairs Department and OHS to assure completed applications.
  • Maintains Documentation & Manages Information - Oversees credentialing information. Ensures that the Department maintains a database on credentialing information along with a hard copy of each trainee file.
  • Maintains Documentation & Manages Information - Generates reports. Generates relevant database reports including but not limited to; monthly report of appointments for the Credential Committee Medical Board and Board of Trustees.
  • Maintains Documentation & Manages Information - Maintains malpractice records. Maintains accurate and timely malpractice histories by coordinating information obtained from physicians NPDB malpractice insurance carriers and affiliated healthcare facilities within the guidelines of NYS law 2805K.
  • Audit Management Guides staff through internal/external audits and provides coaching based on findings.
  • Supports Department Activities - Participates in initiatives. Participates in Education Institute projects and activities.
  • Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff - Demonstrates effective communication skills. Communicates in an organized illustrative and courteous manner both verbally and in writing with physicians and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
5-7 Healthcare/Medical - Healthcare Administration
EDUCATION REQUIRED
A Bachelors degree (e. g. BA BS BSN BSW). or 5-7 years experience in lieu of degree
EDUCATION PREFERRED
Masters.


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Standing or sitting in the same location. Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop climb or lift light material (10 lbs. or less) or equipment. Examples: programmers receptionists medical technologists and dishwashers.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor area with frequent exposure. Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust fumes temperature and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.

HAZARDS OSHA
OSHA Category that involve no exposure to blood body fluids tissues or other potentially infectious materials and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIRED

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE PREFERRED
CPCS Certification (preferred).

SKILLS REQUIRED
Proven supervisory ability; Knowledge of healthcare; Good oral and written communication skills; Strong problem solving skills; Excellent organizational skills.
