Job Summary

Seattle Childrens is seeking a visionary pediatric clinician-scientist and executive to serve as the VP Chief Innovation Officer CInO and Founding Director of the newly established Seattle Childrens Institute for Pediatric AI Innovation. This executive leader reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Digital AI & Information Officer (CDAIO) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CInO and will be responsible for defining the enterprise-wide data and AI strategy. The role bridges the gap between academic research and clinical operations building a bench-to-bedside program to safely deploy AI solutions that measurably improve pediatric outcomes and health equity. The CInO will oversee the development and deployment of systemwide AI solutions to drive administrative efficiencies.

Required Education and Experience
MD/DO and/or PhD in a relevant field.
10 years of post-training experience across clinical practice informatics or health-system AI leadership.
7 years leading cross-functional AI programs from concept to production in regulated environments.
5 years integrating AI with enterprise clinical systems and operating governance at scale.
A sustained record of peer-reviewed scholarship and external research funding.
Clinical Requirement: If practicing board certification in a relevant specialty and eligibility for a Washington State medical license.

Required Credentials
N/A

Preferred
Experience leading an academic AI center or a comparable large-scale program.
Proven track record in deploying agentic workflows and multi-institution studies.
Expertise in intellectual property tech transfer and commercialization.
Board certification in a pediatric clinical specialty with active or recent academic practice.
Eligibility for a faculty appointment in UW BIME.

Compensation Range

$425000 and $600000 with a target annual incentive of 20%

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
