POSITION SUMMARY:
The EEG Technician performs standard EEGs in all settings.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Desired:
Two years of hospital experience performing standard EEGs.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Current CPR certification
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) (within one year of hire) (dept tracks)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to learn to perform standard wake drowsy and sleep EEG tests with general supervision. The ability to learn to perform complex EEGs including extended and continuous EEGs with and without video mini-sphenoidals and evoked potentials. The tech must have the ability to perform patient scheduling and charge entry. Must demonstrate technical competence professional judgment communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
