The Conventional Grit Blasting Supervisor oversees daily blasting operations to ensure surfaces are prepared to specification while maintaining safety quality and production standards. - Pay Rate: $28-$32 DOE
- Per Diem: (7 Days): $160 days stayed
- Travel out pay: $50
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- Supervise and lead grit blasting personnel in daily operations
- Assign work orders and monitor job progress to meet production schedules
- Ensure surface preparation meets SSPC/NACE or customer specifications
- Enforce safety procedures PPE use and environmental compliance
- Conduct inspections before and after blasting to verify quality standards
- Train and mentor new and existing blasters
- Maintain blasting equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
- Monitor abrasive usage material handling and inventory levels
- Complete production reports inspections and documentation
- Coordinate with coating QA/QC and operations teams
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License
- 35 years of conventional grit blasting or surface preparation experience
- 12 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards and surface prep profiles
- Ability to read drawings job travelers and customer specifications
