Guardian Australia is part of Guardian News & Media (GNM) publisher of. As a leading global media organisation we are renowned for our pioneering independent journalism and our award-winning digital products.

We are seeking a digital producer to join our Guardian Labs (GLabs) team in the Sydney office to provide end-to-end project management and implementation for GLabs in delivering branded content and sponsorship campaigns across Guardian Australias (GA) different platforms.

This role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis.

In this role you will

  • Act as the primary post-sale client lead for branded content and sponsorship campaigns (GLabs) anticipating needs and ensuring a seamless experience for the client from handover to campaign completion
  • Responsible for managing client expectations and requests in a timely and professional manner leading client communications including status updates contact reports and performance reporting ensuring transparency clarity and responsiveness.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients cultural partners and agencies to demonstrate the value of our service thinking and delivery through the campaign lifecycle.
  • Lead project planning defining project scope tasks goals deliverables and required resources to ensure work is delivered on time on brief and to agreed commercial parameters.
  • Lead the implementation of campaigns including briefing internal teams managing client feedback overseeing changes and ensuring alignment between client expectations and delivery
  • Build project documentation (contract timeline etc) for client sign off
  • Maintain accurate campaign and production tracking in Salesforce and Trello/Asana ensuring records are up to date and accessible
  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Distribute work setting deadlines and ensuring successful delivery of project timelines
  • Work with a broad range of creatives and contractors including designers and developers as well as the clients to ensure smooth process flow and successful campaigns
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors on production and delivery of audio and video
  • Collaborate with internal teams on creative direction for video content leading the delivery of pre-production documentation (eg creative treatments talent briefs etc)
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs proactively resolving campaign issues promptly and with care
  • Manage campaign workflows to keep projects on track deadlines met and stakeholders aligned monitoring campaign health including financials delivery progress and internal resourcing escalating risks early to protect outcomes and profit margins.
  • Manage all elements of campaign publishing via Guardian CMS
  • Collaboration with team to promote content on-site and off-site to optimise and improve the partnership where necessary to ensure KPIs are met
  • Monitor campaigns and ensuring client satisfaction through follow-up client responsiveness and thorough and timely communication
  • Campaign reporting
  • Manage production budget to ensure each project is profitable
  • Facilitate and contribute to brainstorms and other creative processes to generate innovative content ideas for both briefs and proactive pitches
  • Collaborate with relevant departments/stakeholders to facilitate the brief response (e.g. content audience ad operations and design)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and best practice working closely with key stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and transactional efficiency across the team
  • Develop working knowledge of in-house technology solutions
  • Work with in-house legal teams on delivering legal contracts for campaign talent creative contractors etc.
  • Manage the timely and accurate payments of contractors and contributors.
  • Develop and approve budgets for creative ideas of varying complexities utilising in-house rate cards as well as sourcing quotes.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in publishing production or agency production essential
  • Experience of being on a team and developing a campaign from conception to launch
  • Experience with managing client expectations as well as building strong client relationships
  • Experience dealing with quick turnaround projects
  • Experience in strategic planning risk management and/or change management
  • Strong sense of urgency ownership and responsibility
  • Strong working knowledge of media industry
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of content production or project management apps (Asana Smartsheet Jira or similar)
  • Understanding of marketing objectives commercial imperatives and digital sales implementation
  • Experience producing shoots (audio and video) including planning creative workflow and budgeting.
  • Qualifications in project management or methodology advantageous
  • Relevant media background with client facing role
  • A strong interest in and understanding of the Guardians editorial independence and values ensuring commercial partnerships are delivered in line with the Guardians core mission
  • Up-to-speed on the latest trends and technologies
