Mechanical Component Failure Analyst

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring an Senior Mechanical Component Failure Analyst (Level 4) to join our Equipment Quality team in Seattle WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform failure analyses of airplane hydraulic and/or mechanical components to determine the cause of failure

  • Emphasis on bench testing skills component disassembly technical evaluation precision measurement analytical reasoning and report writing

  • Maintain a working knowledge of airplane components related systems and supporting technical documentation

  • Develop test methods to replicate failure modes

  • Lead analysis teams comprised of Suppliers Quality Engineering Manufacturing airline representatives and government representatives

  • Prepare formal technical reports of investigation results for internal and/or external customers to include government agencies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and failure analysis

  • 5 years of experience testing hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems

  • 3 years of experience writing technical reports

  • 3 years of experience leading multiple projects at the same time

  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1 years of experience precision measurement equipment & GD&T

  • 1 years of experience working with customers in production engineering departments airline industry or governmental agencies
