Billing Coordinator
About the Role:
As a Billing Coordinator you will play a key role in managing the firms billing lifecycle from file opening through month-end closing. You will ensure accurate client data entry monitor unbilled time and expenses generate reports and support electronic billing processes.
This role requires strong attention to detail the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistent communication with attorneys and legal staff to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies. You will serve as an essential link between the Accounting team and legal departments to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
The position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data maintaining organized systems and contributing to a collaborative office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform conflict checks for new matters
- Obtain approvals for new file openings
- Open and maintain client files within the billing system
- Accurately enter and update client data
- Monitor unbilled time and disbursements to ensure timely billing
- Work closely with attorneys and legal staff to resolve billing disputes
- Handle electronic billing through client platforms
- Generate weekly and monthly billing reports
- Perform month-end closing processes
- Complete additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of billing experience in a law firm preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and SurePoint LMS
- Experience with NetDocs is helpful
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- High level of accuracy in detailed data entry
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining client accounts
