Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $128500.00 - $196375.00. In addition this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to: scope of role level of experience education accomplishments internal equity budget and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Clinical Education Specialist

2pm-Midnight

The Clinical Education Specialist (CES) is responsible for advancing nursing practice across the enterprise through education mentorship and the integration of evidence-based standards within the Patient Care Services department. This role identifies opportunities to enhance nursing performance standardize procedures and implement best practices that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

The CES implements theory-based professional practices and evaluates develops and promotes care plans that support optimal outcomes for patients and their families. This role serves as a resource and mentor to nursing staff ensuring that curricula policies and procedures remain current and in compliance with regulatory standards.

The CES generates data-driven plans that reflect both quality and cost considerations utilizing appropriate research methods to gather accurate data and drive meaningful improvements in clinical practice. The CES acts as a clinical resource for nurses at all levels providing clinical leadership and education through ongoing evaluation and direct observation of nursing practice.

This role supplies analytical support to nursing leadership by helping to plan and anticipate educational needs based on patient outcomes nurse performance data and real-time clinical observations. The CES demonstrates mastery in clinical decision-making critical thinking knowledge development and dissemination problem identification and the recognition of safety issues in practice. The position provides point-of-care clinical support to nursing staff.

The CES collaborates with the Professional Development team on initiatives such as orientation and onboarding the competency program and the RN Residency and Fellowship programs. The CES understands the Magnet Program and supports the integration of Magnet standards into the nursing infrastructure.

Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Masters of Nursing
  • 3 years of acute care/critical care RN experience required
  • NYS RN license and registration required
  • AHA BLS PALS ACLS certification required
  • Certification preferred required within 6 months of hire
