For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta addition the hospitals network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Job Summary and Responsibilities
The primary role of this position is to provide skilled management and strategic leadership functions for the Hospital that results in effective planning monitoring of the quality of patient care resource utilization across all departments and service line development. This position provides physician oversight over such activities as Quality Management patient safety patient experience Medical Staff Office fostering a positive relationship with medical staff and any other duties as assigned. This individual shall assume a facilitative role to assist the President of the medical Staff its officers and department chairs in carrying out their responsibilities. Sets policies and procedures and ensures all services meet the objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities
Works closely with hospital staff department directors and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained
Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts to enhance clinical performance and maintain compliance with TJC HIPAA and other accreditation standards; participates in the development and implementation of quality initiatives related to patient access and satisfaction provider satisfaction clinical outcomes process improvement and guideline development
Works within the service area network to identify and evaluate outstanding physicians and physician groups for participation in the provider network
Participates in strategic and business plan development including identification of strategic partners growth initiatives and resource allocation
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (CA)- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in specialty
- Doctor of Osteopathy (CA)- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in specialty
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in healthcare
