ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours to resolve issues that may arise
- Develop and implement department goals and initiatives that align with the services mission and values of the organization
- Perform employee reviews coaching conversations and encouragement to ensure all employees are supported and challenged to grow and develop within the organization
- Ensure department employees follow company guidelines and policies and take appropriate action as needed
- Locate identify and prepare parts listed to complete repairs
- Communicate the repair schedule of equipment with all affected employees in the specific work area
- Review work orders throughout the day and communicate with team members to determine priorities and action items while keeping safety and quality in mind
- Constantly review downtime reports and work orders to monitor which machines and equipment operate most inefficiently
- Ensure that the preventive maintenance program is up to date is being followed and that all forms are being filled out correctly and completely
- Partner with the Maintenance Manager to develop and monitor department budgets and ensure expenses are within the budget
- Coordinate inspect and review the work of employees to ensure tasks meet deadlines and are completed efficiently
- Review and submit employee time sheets bi-weekly and PTO requests
- Prepare or participate in the development and preparation of bid specifications for projects equipment and materials
- Inspect the work of contractors for compliance to specifications and current codes
- Prepare a wide variety of written materials to document procedures
- Participate in meetings workshops and seminars
- Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines
- Troubleshoot plan and execute repairs
- Participate in the interviewing and selection process as needed
- Provide support and training to new and less experienced team members
- Write detailed preventive maintenance procedures and develop preventive maintenance schedules
- Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize sustain sort set in order and shine)
- As a member of the maintenance team act as emergency coordinator - respond immediately to any workplace accidents that arise to tend to the tools and equipment involved
OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job)
- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree required or 5 years of work experience.
- Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology Mechatronics or related program preferred
- Experience:
- 1 years of experience in; programmable logic controller (PLC) computer numerical control (CNC) machining electrical hydraulics pneumatics welding plumbing and machine repair maintenance
OR
- 5 years of maintenance related experience; mechanics hands on repair etc.
- Other required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment and appropriate measuring tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong coordination and judgment skills
- Basic math skills
- Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and others
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to read and understand electrical pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and blueprints for machined parts and equipment
- Leadership training and skills are helpful
