Job Summary

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain repair and improve manufacturing laser equipment in support of production operations.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production processing facility and QC equipment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics drawings and work instructions (analog and digital).
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems. Work with power supplies industrial controls and high-voltage equipment.
  • Perform optical alignment of high-powered CO lasers and YAG lasers including rail alignments.
  • Utilize a basic understanding of CNC programming and G-codes to support equipment functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motion control systems including X Y Z and rotary drives (ball screw and direct drive).
  • Assist in estimating labor time for repairs and requisitioning replacement parts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety quality and laser safety standards including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
  • Review equipment performance and maintenance data to help identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings electrical schematics and work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing computer applications.
  • Understanding of laser components including optics vacuum pumps high-voltage power supplies and current control circuitry.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as DVOMs oscilloscopes function generators and watt meters. Time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. CAD experience is a plus. Military service is a plus.
