Job Summary

Responsibilities:

Maintain repair and improve manufacturing laser equipment in support of production operations.

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production processing facility and QC equipment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.

Read and interpret electrical schematics drawings and work instructions (analog and digital).

Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems. Work with power supplies industrial controls and high-voltage equipment.

Perform optical alignment of high-powered CO lasers and YAG lasers including rail alignments.

Utilize a basic understanding of CNC programming and G-codes to support equipment functionality.

Troubleshoot and maintain motion control systems including X Y Z and rotary drives (ball screw and direct drive).

Assist in estimating labor time for repairs and requisitioning replacement parts as needed.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Ensure compliance with safety quality and laser safety standards including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.

Review equipment performance and maintenance data to help identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to read and comprehend drawings electrical schematics and work instructions.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing computer applications.

Understanding of laser components including optics vacuum pumps high-voltage power supplies and current control circuitry.

Experience using diagnostic tools such as DVOMs oscilloscopes function generators and watt meters. Time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. CAD experience is a plus. Military service is a plus.
