About the Role

Caribou is seeking a Director Direct Mail Growth to lead the strategy and execution of our direct mail acquisition engine scaling profitable customer growth through data-driven optimization and operational excellence.

Direct Mail is already a top acquisition channel for Caribou with significant opportunity to scale volume improve efficiency and unlock incremental profitability. This is a high-impact high-visibility leadership role for a marketer who thrives at the intersection of art and science with a proven track record of scaling direct mail into a profitable growth lever.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing you will define the long-term vision and deliver against aggressive growth targets partnering closely with Data Science & Analytics FP&A Lending Data Engineering Design and Sales & Operations. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in pre-screened / credit-based programs and understands how to successfully operate in a highly regulated cross-functional and high-security environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Direct Mail Growth Strategy: Set and evolve Caribous direct mail acquisition strategy to deliver aggressive volume and ROI targets while scaling profitability and efficiency. Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to surface emerging risks and unlock new growth levers.
  • Audience & Modeling: Partner with Data Science FP&A and other cross-functional partners to optimize selection and suppression criteria refine propensity models and leverage credit bureau and other data sources to improve response conversion and program profitability.
  • Campaign Execution: Lead end-to-end campaign planning and execution across internal teams and external partners ensuring on-time creative data readiness and mail drops.
  • Production & Vendor Management: Manage the full production lifecycle and high-security vendor relationships (SOC2-compliant print/data partners) ensuring quality compliance and cost control.
  • Testing & Optimization: Build an always-on experimentation program across segments formats messaging offers and creativeturning learnings into repeatable performance gains.
  • Budgeting & Measurement: Own a multi-million-dollar budget; partner with FP&A Data Science and Analytics on forecasting attribution and incrementality measurement.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Communication: Align stakeholders and communicate performance insights and risks clearly to senior leaders and key partners.

About You

Youre a high-ownership growth leader who thrives in fast-moving environmentsand youre driven by outcomes.

  • 10 years of direct marketing experience ideally in financial services or fintech with deep expertise in direct mail acquisition.
  • 4 years of hands-on experience with pre-screened / credit-based direct mail programs.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Statistics or a related field (Masters a plus).
  • Strong experience working with credit bureau attributes and other third-party/internal datasets to develop and improve performance models.
  • Highly analytical skill set with expert-level proficiency in Excel and SQL (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a test-and-learn environmentreading signals drawing insights and iterating quickly.
  • Deep knowledge of USPS regulations postal optimization and industry trends.
  • Proven experience managing SOC2-compliant vendors secure data workflows and partners handling sensitive information.
  • Track record of building mentoring and scaling high-performing teams and cross-functional programs.
  • Strong communication and executive presenceable to translate complex performance drivers and technical concepts across stakeholders.
